{"id":1238,"date":"2026-04-23T07:57:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T07:57:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.cis.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1238"},"modified":"2026-04-23T07:57:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T07:57:13","slug":"csis-participates-in-a-scientific-symposium-at-bayt-al-hikma-on-the-role-of-translation-in-combating-drugs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.cis.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1238","title":{"rendered":"CSIS Participates in a Scientific Symposium at Bayt al-Hikma on the Role of Translation in Combating Drugs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Sakkal Majalla';\">Media and Government Communication Unit<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16.0pt; font-family: 'Sakkal Majalla';\">Chief Senior Translator Sameera Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, Head of the Translation Unit at our Center, participated in the specialized scientific seminar organized by Bayt al-Hikma \/ Department of Linguistic and Translation Studies, entitled, &#8220;The Role of the Translator in Formulating Awareness Discourse on the Dangers of Drugs Across Diverse Languages and Cultures.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16.0pt; font-family: 'Sakkal Majalla';\">The seminar was held in Dr. Mahmoud Ali Al-Daoud Hall under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Ali Al-Araji, and in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bayt al-Hikma, Dr. Qahtan Nema Hassan Al-Khafaji, together with a distinguished group of academics and specialists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16.0pt; font-family: 'Sakkal Majalla';\">The researcher contributed a significant paper entitled, &#8220;The Semiotics of Digital Encryption: Specialized and Machine Translation in Countering Drug Promotion via Social Media&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16.0pt; font-family: 'Sakkal Majalla';\">The paper highlighted a number of contemporary and sensitive issues. The seminar also witnessed extensive interventions from attendees, who praised the importance of linking linguistic and translation studies with urgent security and societal issues.
