A researcher from the University of Baghdad publishes a new book entitled (Power and Domination: A Study of Philosophical Foundations).<\/p>\n

A new book by a researcher at the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad, titled “Power and Hegemony: A Study of Philosophical Foundations,” has recently been published by Dar Zunun for Studies and Research in Baghdad. The book addresses the dialectical relationship between the concepts of power and hegemony and the philosophical and epistemological issues associated with them.<\/p>\n

The author will present the development of these two concepts in modern political and philosophical thought, highlighting the attempts of various schools of thought to develop their visions of the optimal model of governance, or at least the formulas most capable of responding to the requirements of contemporary societies.<\/p>\n

He demonstrates that the concept of hegemony has remained closely linked to the concept of power. The book examines its dimensions, context, and roots in modern philosophy, avoiding delving into ancient times so as not to appear as though it were a study of the history of ideas. Rather, it focuses on the forms and frameworks within which power and hegemony were formed in the construction of the modern state.<\/p>\n

The author believes that the book’s value lies in the set of questions it raises, as it represents an introduction to reconsidering prevailing concepts and stimulates researchers to conduct further critical and developmental studies.<\/p>\n

This work is expected to contribute to enriching the Iraqi and Arab intellectual library, opening new horizons for studying the complex relationship between power and hegemony in the contemporary context.<\/p>\n
