The Continuing Education Unit at the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University organized a scholarly workshop entitled \u201cCyber Alignment and Iraq\u2019s Digital Security in the Era of Artificial Intelligence\u201d, held in the Freedom Hall at the College of Political Science.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop, delivered by Lecturer Nora Riyadh Abdullah, examined the principal challenges confronting Iraq in the domain of cybersecurity amid the accelerating international competition over artificial intelligence technologies. It further explored the implications of these developments for national security and digital sovereignty.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The presenter underscored the urgent need to formulate a comprehensive Iraqi strategic vision for digital security, aimed at reinforcing Iraq\u2019s standing regionally and internationally. She also emphasized the importance of developing both legislative frameworks and institutional capacities to keep pace with rapid technological advancements in this field.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop concluded with a series of key recommendations, including:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u00a0Strengthening national cybersecurity capabilities and integrating them into a coherent national strategy for digital sovereignty.<\/strong><\/li>\n

    Enacting specialized legislation and regulatory frameworks governing cyber governance and artificial intelligence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. Diversifying technological partnerships to mitigate dependence on global powers.<\/strong><\/li>\n
