Under the patronage of the President of the University of Baghdad, Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Insaf, and under the supervision of Dr. Adel Abdul-Hamza Thajeel, Director of the Center for Strategic and <\/strong>International Studies, the Department of Public Policies \u00a0held \u00a0its second semiannual symposium titled \u201cIraq\u2019s National Security Challenges and Response Strategies.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The session was chaired by Dr. Riyadh Abdul Ibrahim, Head of the Department of Public Policy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The symposium featured the presentation of five research papers addressing key issues related to Iraq\u2019s national security. The first paper examined the current state of national security and future aspirations, while the second focused on military policy within the broader context of internal security challenges.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The third paper analyzed the National Security Strategy 2025\u20132030, with particular attention to non-traditional threats.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fourth paper explored the implications of artificial intelligence for national security systems, and the fifth addressed the water file as a geopolitical pressure tool within the spectrum of non-traditional threats facing Iraq\u2019s security.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organizers emphasized that this symposium forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic dialogue and generate scientifically grounded insights that may assist relevant institutions in policy formulation and in enhancing the state\u2019s readiness to confront current and future challenges.<\/strong><\/p>\n
