M.M. Raad Khadir Salibi, a researcher at the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad, participated in the scientific conference organized by the Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi Center at Tikrit University under the title:

“Drug abuse and its general effects on society throughout history and the role of universities in diagnosing the phenomenon and ways to prevent it.”

Research topic:

The researcher presented a study entitled “The role of Iraqi educational institutions in reducing the phenomenon of drugs for the period 2003-2014”, which is considered one of the most dangerous social and health issues affecting societies, especially in Iraq. The researcher pointed out that the spread of this phenomenon worsened after 2003 as a result of the unstable political, economic and security conditions.

The researcher explained that educational institutions in Iraq, from schools and universities, can play a fundamental role in building awareness among young people to reduce this dangerous phenomenon through awareness and educational programs, despite the challenges that Iraq faced during that period.
