Under the patronage of the Prime Minister, His Excellency Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and as part of the activities of the Supreme Council for Youth, the Baghdad Visions Center, in coordination with the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad, held a scientific dialogue seminar entitled (Post-Human Politics: Features of the Era of Major Transformations). The seminar was attended by Dr. Aqeel Al-Khazali, Advisor to the Prime Minister, who presented an analytical vision that included a discussion of the intellectual and political challenges in light of the rapid transformation the world is witnessing due to the rise of artificial intelligence.

The symposium addressed major transformations in contemporary political and humanitarian thought, emphasizing that artificial intelligence is no longer merely a technical tool , Indeed, artificial intelligence is a new player reshaping the political, social, and economic landscape This calls for a re-reading of some basic concepts such as identity, sovereignty, power, and decision-making .

The symposium aimed to highlight the accelerating impact of modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in reshaping the conceptual and political structures of contemporary societies, and to call for a broad intellectual and academic dialogue on the “future of humanity” in light of these changes.

At the conclusion of the symposium, participants presented several recommendations, most notably: reconsidering the theoretical foundations of political and social sciences, promoting multidisciplinary scientific research to keep pace with digital transformations, launching national and international dialogues on the future of humanity in the age of artificial intelligence, and formulating modern policies and legislation that are compatible with technological and societal developments.

This symposium comes as part of the University of Baghdad and the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ efforts to promote scholarly dialogue on contemporary issues and foster a deeper understanding of the future of politics and society in light of the major transformations currently taking place in the world.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad continues to organize active academic events from time to time, in collaboration with a number of governmental and non-governmental institutions , This comes as part of its efforts to provide society, academic institutions, and government institutions with information and analytical insights that keep pace with major transformations and serve as a basis for decision-making and public policy development.
