The Quality Assurance and University Performance Unit at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, University of Baghdad, organized a training workshop on the mechanism for completing the evaluation form for the Center’s faculty members for the academic year 2024–2025. The workshop was held in Al-Hurriya Hall at the College of Political Science and was delivered by researcher Elaf Khudair Abbas from the Center.
As part of the Academic Performance Development Program, the workshop focused on two main themes. The first addressed the procedures for archiving the paper-based documents subject to evaluation, while the second was dedicated to explaining the steps of electronic documentation for the documents required to accompany the paper form.
In the first theme, emphasis was placed on the fact that paper documentation remains the cornerstone for substantiating academic and administrative activities, as it constitutes the official reference for evaluation committees. The session also reviewed methods for organizing files—beginning with preserving originals and classifying them according to evaluation categories, proceeding with numbering and indexing, and highlighting the importance of chronological documentation of activities to ensure their inclusion in the evaluation process.
Presenters further provided a model for structuring paper files according to the form’s categories, such as scientific activity, teaching activity, and administrative contributions, in order to facilitate access by evaluation committees.
The workshop concluded by underscoring the importance of integrating both paper-based and electronic documentation to ensure accuracy in the evaluation process, thereby strengthening the transparency of the standards used to assess the activities of faculty members within the Center.
