The Public Policy Department at the Center organized a workshop titled “The Social Implications of the Rising Human Trafficking Cases.” The session was led by Assistant Lecturer Ghufran Younis and focused on Anti-Human Trafficking Law No. 28 of 2012, along with the challenges associated with its implementation.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of human trafficking and strengthen governmental and societal efforts to combat it by ensuring the effective enforcement of the law and the protection of victims.

A key focus of the discussion was Article 2 of the law, which mandates the establishment of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking under the Ministry of Interior.

 

Additionally, she  elaborated on the penalties for offenders, which range from 15 years of imprisonment to life sentences, depending on the severity and circumstances of the crime.
