The Continuing Education Unit at the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University organized a scholarly workshop entitled “Cyber Alignment and Iraq’s Digital Security in the Era of Artificial Intelligence”, held in the Freedom Hall at the College of Political Science.
The workshop, delivered by Lecturer Nora Riyadh Abdullah, examined the principal challenges confronting Iraq in the domain of cybersecurity amid the accelerating international competition over artificial intelligence technologies. It further explored the implications of these developments for national security and digital sovereignty.
The presenter underscored the urgent need to formulate a comprehensive Iraqi strategic vision for digital security, aimed at reinforcing Iraq’s standing regionally and internationally. She also emphasized the importance of developing both legislative frameworks and institutional capacities to keep pace with rapid technological advancements in this field.
The workshop concluded with a series of key recommendations, including:
