The Department of Political and Regional Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies – University of Baghdad organized a seminar presented by Assistant Lecturer  Noora R. Abdullah, entitled “Cyber security: A Study of the Iranian Model,” with participation from the department’s researchers.

The seminar examined the concept of cyber security and its dimensions within contemporary politics, with particular emphasis on the Iranian experience in developing a self-sufficient digital defense system.

Participants analyzed the intellectual and institutional foundations of the Iranian cyber security model and its role in safeguarding information and strengthening national security. The discussion also addressed the tools and mechanisms employed by Iran to manage the cyberspace domain.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants underscored the importance of enhancing Iraq’s capabilities in cyber security, establishing national policies to protect digital infrastructure, and drawing lessons from regional models, while ensuring a balance between technological openness and digital sovereignty.
