Senior Chief Translator Sameera Ibrahim Abdulrahman, a researcher in the Translation Unit at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, participated in the proceedings of the Seventeenth Scientific Conference organized by the Al-Mustansiriyah Center for Arab and International Studies at Al-Mustansiriyah University, in cooperation with the Waei Center for Consultancy and Capacity Building. The conference was held under the title “The Dialectics of Awareness and Identity in Confronting Global Transformations: Multidisciplinary Perspectives,” on 19–20 November 2025.
Sameera Ibrahim Abdulrahman presented a joint research paper with Assistant Professor Dr. Sudad Mouloud Saba’ from the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, entitled “The Problematics of Identity in the Digital Space: A Sociological Analytical Study.” The paper examined transformations of identity within digital contexts, mechanisms of discourse reproduction and the formation of sub-identities through social media platforms, as well as an analysis of the social frameworks shaping collective awareness in virtual environments.
The paper contributed to enriching the conference sessions by offering a scientific approach that bridges sociological studies with digital transformations, in alignment with the conference’s objectives of examining the impact of global changes on the structure of identity and the awareness of individuals and societies.
