The Department of Regional and International Political Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, University of Baghdad, conducted a visit to Bayt al-Hikma, involving several faculty researchers from the department. This visit came within the framework of strengthening academic engagement and expanding openness to intellectual activities that contribute to the advancement of scholarly research.

The visit was organized to attend the scientific seminar entitled, “Building Sustainable Partnerships Between Iraq and Its Regional Neighboring States,” which addressed the importance of establishing balanced and enduring relations with neighboring countries, as well as mechanisms for enhancing cooperation in the fields of security and development in a manner consistent with the nature of current regional challenges.

During the seminar, Professor Dr. Mufeed Al-Zaydi delivered an academic lecture entitled, “Iraqi-Gulf Relations: The Interests of Security and Development,” in which he reviewed the evolution of relations between Iraq and the Gulf states, highlighting the principal determinants of partnership based on achieving equilibrium between security dimensions and development requirements.

At the conclusion of the seminar, emphasis was placed on the importance of sustaining such academic activities in order to institutionalize scholarly dialogue and exchange expertise, thereby strengthening the role of research institutions in supporting decision-makers and providing strategic insights to address regional challenges.
