In the context of activating frameworks of scientific cooperation and engaging with leading intellectual institutions, the Center for Strategic and International Studies participated in the memorial session organized by Bayt al-Hikma (Department of Linguistic and Translation Studies) in honor of the intellectual legacy and distinguished academic career of the late Professor Dr. Malek Al-Mutalibi (1941–2026).

The Center was represented by the Head of the Translation Unit, Chief Senior Translator Sameera Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, who attended the event held under the patronage and presence of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bayt al-Hikma, Professor Dr. Qahtan Nema Hassan Al-Khafaji, and moderated by Advisor Dr. Imad Jasem Salman, with broad participation from academic elites and intellectual figures.

The participation of the Translation Unit in this commemorative event reflects the Center’s approach to strengthening ties with reputable research institutions and acknowledging leading intellectual figures who have contributed to laying the foundations of modern linguistic and critical methodologies in Iraq.

The session highlighted the intellectual brilliance of the late scholar in reconciling classical heritage with modern linguistics, and reviewed his contributions in applied linguistics, discourse analysis, linguistic criticism, text editing, as well as his role in reinforcing the connection between Iraqi research centers and universities in honoring high scientific values.
